Preview Markdown Online

To anyone looking to start their adventure (fun???) with the Markdown markup language, I can recommend a free Markdown viewer. You can share a file or type code directly from the keyboard.

All the work is performed by the code inside the browser, so no information is sent to any server.

The address for this viewer is: macmdviewer.com/tools/markdown-preview.

It is also worth checking out other tools available on the pages created by Artur Teboul. Among other things, you can find:

  • a viewer for diagrams created in Mermaid;
  • a pretty good PDF $\rightarrow$ Markdown converter;
  • a set of tools for preparing tables (and coding them in Markdown);
  • Markdown/Mermaid converters to graphic formats (for example, for creating illustrations);
  • converters between Word $\leftrightarrow$ Markdown formats;

A major advantage of the above tools is that conversions take place entirely in the browser, without sending information to external servers.

There is also some interesting information explaining various “quirks” of both the Markdown format itself and the most popular tools used for creating, converting, and previewing Markdown files.
