Memories of Marian Rejewski

During Information Technology classes, I also mention Alan Turing and breaking the codes of the German Enigma encryption machine. Polish cryptographers: Marian Rejewski, Jerzy Różycki and Henryk Zygalski and other employees of the pre-war Polish Cipher Bureau played a huge role in understanding the principles of operation of Enigma.

While in Poznań, it is worth visiting the Cipher Center located in the city center where you can find out a lot of interesting information on about encryption and Enigma itself.

In July 2023, the Polish Embassy in London published a series of short videos on YouTube from an interview conducted with Marian Rejewski sometime in the 1970s. Starting to watch the first video will allow you to watch all of them. English subtitles provided.
